BLOGGER TEMPLATES AND TWITTER BACKGROUNDS »

This artwork was all about burger king. We used photo shop to replicate Andy Warhol's artwork. We first had to get an image of an icon of the Internet. Then we had to use the effect of Neon Glow (top right image). Then we had to use a background for the same icon (top left image). Then we used the icon inside the text (middle right image). We then used an effect which in this case was the colored pencil effect, and using the mask, we unveiled the true identity of some parts of the image (middle left image). After that, we used made another image of the icon inside the text (middle right image). We then used an image inside the icon (bottom right image). The next image was free choice and I used the liquefy effect (bottom left image). From this project, I learnt how to use photo shop quite efficiently.

This project reminds me of all the fast food ads that I see on television. If I had the chance to redo this whole project, I would likely redo the pictures with the Burger King logo over another fast food logo. From doing this project, I am now familiar with Andy Warhol and how he redefined the word, 'pop-art'.
As I was doing this project, I was amazed at how many different things could be done on just one program. Once started on this project, I was able to identify art by Andy Warhol. At first, I started off just coloring parts of the Burger King icon, but soon I abandoned that idea and started working on the icon and the background. I am absolutely satisfied with the way this project turned out because it is my first time working with photo shop.

Bags

We have just recently finished our project of bags. To make this we first sketched out the shape of our bag onto a piece of paper. Then we got a small square and folded it in half and then half again forming a smaller square. On the small square tile, I put random lines and curves onto it. I opened it so that it becomes a rectangle and the design onto that side I did this on the other side too. It is like making a small square in my other project: Tessellation. I then placed the small square onto the belly of my bag and traced it. You can easily see which parts are my design. During this process, I learned how to draw a backpack. In this project, I used repetition this in using the same tile square over and over again.

This project reminds me of Batiks (Batik's are these indonesian traditional clothing) because they have intricate designs on them and the design has been repeated many times. If I were to do this project differently, I would have used different colors in the tessellation (the design). I took away using tessellations in everyday objects, like, in this case a bag.

I felt great doing this project maybe because my sketch of the bag was so good. I further developed my ideas from outlining my tessellation to not outlining my tessellation. I was quite satisfied in this because the final result was quite good.

Tessellations

We made tessellations in Design Art. We made it by starting off with a square. We folded it in halve and then again. Then we drew random lines and curves and circles etc. Then we unfolded it so that the normal square was only folded in halve. Then placing it on a light, we traced the shape. We did that again and ended up with a nice square. We then placed another empty square onto the square we just did, and so on. I learnt that to make a good tessellation, you can just start with a simple drawing. My tessellation kind of reminds me of the Pokemon, Chansey and Ghastly.
If I could go back and redo this project, I would make my tessellation look a bit less like a Pokemon. I took away the knowledge of how to do a tessellation.
I felt happy because I've always failed to do a real tessellation and now i can do a proper one. This project increased my observation about looking at tessellations because now I notice that some shirts have tessellations on them. Through out the whole project, I changed the use of markers to colored pencil. I was satisfied with my result

Design of Lines

Lines are every where in the world making various designs. Like for example, the Eiffel Tower, a wooden door and so on. I made this by first making a design made out of only straight lines (the design on the right side). I did this by first drawing a line in the middle then added to it. Then I made my design out of only curves (the design in the middle). Then came the hard part, making a design out of straight and curved lines cut out. I learnt that all you need to do to make a design is only starting out with a basic drawing. I would redo the design of only straight lines and the design with curved and straight lines over again because I see it is not as good as the curved one. I felt very proud of myself when I did the curved design because it is on of my best designs I have ever created. Overall I was satisfied of the final product as the curved design balances the other 2 designs out.

HURBE: Balance

This is Balance.
It is balance because it has objects on either side of the picture unlike one end of the picture is stuffed full with objects while the other side has nothing on it.

Overview of Design Art

So far, we have done drawings of just lines, just curvy lines, and both mixed together. It is very challenging as we have to use something important called HURBE.
HURBE (pronounced: herb) is all these different things in one, like Harmony, Unity, Repetition, Balance, and Emphasis. Emphasis is when there is something that really stands out in your artwork for example, a black and white picture with a stroke of green on it. The green is it's Emphasis.
Harmony is when your picture comes together, like if you have a circle on one end of the paper, and another circle on the other end of the paper, there's no Harmony.
Balance is when the picture balances each other out, like color, and objects.
Repetition is when you repeat an object two times or more.

Paintings

In Indonesian arts, we are painting (water colors). The painting I have done is about a person looking out from a submarine that looks out into the ocean.
